The Walter P. Kistler Book Award was established to recognize authors of science-based books that significantly increase the knowledge and understanding of the public regarding subjects that will shape the future of our species. The award is bestowed annually.

 

Named for the originator of the award program and benefactor of the Foundation For the Future, the Walter P. Kistler Book Award includes a cash prize of US$10,000 and a certificate. It is formally presented in ceremonies that are open to the public and that include a lecture by the author, Q&A, and book-signing.
