Foundation For the Future

Programs

 

The Foundation For the Future manages a number of programs designed to further its goal of increasing knowledge about the factors that may have a major impact on the long-term future of humanity.

 

Humanity 3000

A major program of symposia, seminars, and workshops designed to convene scholars from diverse backgrounds and challenge them to debate the factors affecting the long-term future of humanity.

Center for Human Evolution

A series of workshops hosted by the Foundation with a focus on understanding the evolutionary factors affecting the long-term future of humanity.
 

Education and Outreach

A program fostering public awareness concerning the long-term future of our species through financial support for educational workshops, films, and websites; through papers delivered at futures conferences; and through speaking engagements at schools and other organizations. A Student Education Program launched with a pilot seminar in 2005 is designed to encourage young scholars to engage in thoughtful consideration of the critical questions concerning the long-term future of humanity.

The Next Thousand Years Television Series

A four-program science documentary film series now in project planning for public television.
 

Films and Videos

A program that develops video productions and sponsors production of films aimed at increasing and diffusing knowledge concerning the long-term future of humanity.
 

Publications

A program that publishes proceedings with transcripts of Foundation seminars, symposia, and workshops, in addition to newsletters, brochures, and other printed and media materials on the long-term future of humanity.
