Convened June 18–20, 2004 | Foundation For the Future Building, Bellevue, Washington
The workshop “This Tiny Planet” focused on the scientific content, related to planetary considerations, of a one-hour television program to be entitled “Earth and Beyond.” Eight scholars worked together to look at the future of planet Earth and its options and potentialities in three timescales: one generation (25 years), ten generations (250 years), and forty generations (a thousand years).

Nine scholars gathered with Foundation officers and affiliates in a weekend workshop focused on Program 2: “The Future Human,” which addresses how humans may evolve in the next thousand years as our species begins to defy its biological limits.
