First Producers Workshop

Summary

The Foundation For the Future held the first Producers Workshop for its television series, The Next Thousand Years, in Bellevue, WA, in April 2002. The purpose of the workshop was to bring together a small group of prominent scholars and prominent television producers for two days of meetings to discuss the content and production challenges facing the project. Workshop objectives were:

1. To introduce a group of prominent scholars and television producers to the Foundation For the Future and its purposes and goals. To introduce the group to the concepts and plans behind The Next Thousand Years television series.

2. To provide a forum for the discussion of the series content, development methodology, production challenges, budget, and schedule.

3. To identify significant problems that are likely to arise in the development and production of the series.

4. To obtain interest from scholars and producers who wish to become involved in the development and execution of the series.
